Welcome to Kawe Books

..the African reading revolution

1 Person, 1 Book, 1 Library and 1 Community for every 1 time

 Kawe Africa is a social enterprise that is aimed at developing human  capacity on the continent by encouraging Africans from a very young age to embrace the culture of reading. The reading culture has the ability to librate the minds of our future leaders and empower them to take charge of their lives and become responsible for whatever they desire to become.

KAWE is a Yoruba word of Nigerian origin meaning to READ!

It was a common thing for us to hear while growing up that if you want to hide anything from an African, put it in a book. We are out to debunk that notion and send a message to the world which is AFRICANS READ!

This is important because we believe that if Africans read more;

They would desire better lives

They would aspire for greater achievements

They would inspire others to take up reading

The model is to sell relevant books in a convenient way through our sales associates to those that have embraced the reading culture in other to raise funds to purchase books to be donated to libraries and to encourage others to embrace the reading culture through our volunteers.

1 for 1 initiative:

For every one book sold by our sales associates, we donate a book to a library

 1 for 10 initiative:

For every 10 books sold by our sales associates, we share an info graphic to sensitize people on the power of reading

 1 for 100 initiative:

For every 100 books sold by our sales associates, we work on refurbishing a library usually funded by proceeds from sales and generous donations
